(L to R) Somerville Lions President, Gene Brune and Somerville Police Chief Thomas Pasquarello.
By William Tauro
Somerville Lions Club President Gene Brune was pleased to have as his guest speaker, Somerville Police Chief Thomas Pasquarello. On Tuesday September 18 the Somerville Lions Club members and guests listened to a very exciting, interesting and informative talk by the chief.
Chief Pasquarello spoke of spending more than 12 years overseas directing operations for the Justice Department throughout Europe, Africa and Asia.
Chief Pasquarello has been recognized for his law enforcement services by a number of world leaders and was credited with the arrest and subsequent conviction of Viktor Bout, nicknamed as the “Lord of Wars” and “merchant of Death”
Chief Pasquarello is serving a five year contract as the Somerville Police Chief.

Police Chief Thomas Pasquarello needs some exercise!
I recently met the Chief at City Hall. He is a fine gentleman with a strong background in law enforcement. His job is administration, not being out in the street chasing the bad guys. His job is to set the policies and procedures that ensure the safety of the public. He has a fine force of officers(as does the Somerville Fire Department) to accomplish this. He and his officers will do the job. And I wish Gene Brune many happy years in retirement. He was a good mayor and Register of deeds. He was a true public servant who gave it his all. He will be missed. God bless them both!
