Somerville Kiwanis installs new officers and directors

The Kiwanis Club of Somerville recently installed its Officers and Directors for 2012-2013.  The new President of Kiwanis is local attorney Isaac Machada who is taking over from Patricia Ng of Century 21 Commonwealth.   The Club’s President Elect is Cambridge Portuguese Credit Union CEO Rui Domingos, and its Vice President is Adilia Pereria President of Anthony’s Function, Inc. of Somerville.

The installation was held at Anthony’s Function Hall on Highland Avenue, Somerville on Sunday, September 30, 2012.  The Master of Ceremonies was Past President and current City Solicitor Frank Wright.

Installed as Directors were Sandra McGoldrick CEO of the Winter Hill Bank, Anthony Ciccariello former Headmaster of Somerville High School, Michael McWilliams Loan Officer at Middlesex Federal Savings, and Antonia Shelzi owner of ABG Commercial Realty.  Arnold “Bud” Knox was sworn in once again as the Club’s long-term Treasurer.  Special recognition was given to local realtor Bob Nissenbaum who retired from his duties as Secretary of the Club after serving in that capacity for the past twenty five years. Susan Callahan became the new Club Secretary.  Also in attendance was New England District Lt. Governor Marisa DiPietro.

The Kiwanis Club of Somerville was chartered in 1925 and has operated continuously as a community service organization with a special focus on assisting children programs in Somerville.  During their past administrative year they donated more than $19,000 to community service projects.  The Club meets every Thursday at 12:15 pm at the Mt.
