Somerville Citizens Bank robbed

On Tuesday morning, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the Citizens Bank at 40 Union Square was robbed.  The suspect passed a note demanding cash and threatened that she had a gun.  The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white female, 5’ 1” in height, medium build.  She was wearing a dark jacket and dark hooded sweat shirt and white pants.  She also had a scarf across her face.  The suspect fled the bank on foot.

There is no video of the suspect available.

The robbery is being investigated by Somerville Police and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.  Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Somerville Police at 617 625-1212.

    Feels like the Far West around here, almost… Somerville is a rather small town, yet, each week there is a bank robbery at least…

    Ray: Yep, seems like metal detectors might be a good investment for these banks ;-)
