Somerville Police Department cruiser #789 fell victim to a big rock that someone used to smash its front windshield and rear window while it was parked across the street from 1109 Broadway, where the West District Neighborhood Police Sub Station is located.
An unknown person smashed the windows of the cruiser and took off from the scene.
The incident occurred sometime between midnight Christmas Eve and 8:30 a.m. Christmas Day.
Somerville Police are reviewing camera footage in an attempt to identify a suspect.

What kind of person enjoys seeing bullshit like this kind of destruction done to our city’s police cars? Animals that’s what kind! Freaking Animals! What a senseless sin! Thanks Somerville News for keeping us up to speed and showing us that some few idiots still lurk our fine city streets. And I did say “few”! We do have many fine citizens in this city.
probably one of the many disgruntled parkers who lost a spot to the cruisers “reserved” parking. unreal.
Naw, they get us civilians too. We come out to find cinderblock through our window on 2 occasions. Pretty normal here on Winter Hill. Flat tires is common also. Replaced many a side view mirror assembly and if lucky just the glass. That is if the vehicle just happens to be still here. Had several of those here also. Lived in several parts of Somerville but East somerville and more so WinterHill have the worse.
A disgrace….even more disgraceful that they did it to a REAL cruiser (Crown Vic) not one of the new smaller.. ug.g.g.lee..”robocop” style cruisers which are not good for the spine of an officer who is taller than 5’6″. If they arrest someone they’ll have to tie them to the roof or call more often for the “Paddy” Wagon.
No j. connelly, that would be cruel and unusal punishment and we would be on for a lawsuit. The criminals do have their rights as you know.
Civilian or Police, j.connelly is right, a disgrace!
Some of you spoiled lugs in blue are unreal! Ford Motor Corp are discontinuing the Crown Vic you idiots so the city bought you ungreatful whinners a fleet of brand new 4WD SUVs and you still complain? Hello, would you prefer Mini Coopers instead you morons who are never happy?
Cry Baby’s Comforter is a real beaut. The story about the vandilism to the police cruier was about a crime and was written by a Somerville News reporter.
No Somerville Police officer commented on it or did any whining about the vandilism.
Cry Baby’s Comforter is your typical malcontent with NOTHING positive to offer society. Grow up, mature a bit, and GET A LIFE!
“Cry Baby’s Comforter” Well it’s evident you cannot read properly so do yourself a favor and keep the pacifier in your mouth and hold it with both hands so it dont fall out…I’m sure your keyboard would appreciate it.
Just equip these cars with proximity sensors that go off each time a non owner gets closer than 10 inches to the vehicles! I can easily imagine people who have been nabbed by cops or had a bad experience with cops doing this.
Hey j. connelly aka mr idiot,
read one of your previous post and you might comp-pre-hend what I meant
“A disgrace….even more disgraceful that they did it to a REAL cruiser (Crown Vic) not one of the new smaller.. ug.g.g.lee..”robocop” style cruisers which are not good for the spine of an officer who is taller than 5’6″. and thus crybabies like you were born!
No bad meant for our fine men in blue , just to a big crybaby that likes to whine everyday like you! Happy New Year!
Wahhhh!
Is Cry Baby’s Comforter for real? He says”no bad meant for our fine men in blue” after calling those in blue “spoiled lugs” and “ungreatful(sic) whiners”?
The only whining going on in this story is by Cry Baby’s Comforter! Advice to this loser is as follows:
It is better to keep one’s mouth shut and be thought of a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. Happy New Year to CBC.
