Damn, I was out of town. Did anyone go? Is it as bad as it sounds?
‘Ray’ Yes it is. You would think after the serious chemical spill in the rail yards in Somerville in the 70′s, that shipping this highly volatile chemical through one of the most densely populated cities would not be allowed. Coming down the rail tracks right beside the proposed GLX tracks.
Sitting in a vast wide open rail yard, as a possible target to some. Guilford Industries (B&M) should be mandated to have Somerville Fire/ Police details watching these tank cars while they are in the Somerville rail yards. They may tell you that the rail cars will not be stored but can you really believe them?
Enough citizens & Fire/Police personnel were hurt in the 70′s incident and costly resources of city personnel & services were used for Tax Exempt B&M.
