Police responded to a called in report of a breaking and entering in progress at a Pinckney Pl. residence last Friday afternoon.

Upon arrival at the residence officers were met by the reporting party, who told them that a man, Rafael Lima, 38, of Cambridge, had broken into his home and had also physically attacked him.

Asked for details, the reporting party told police that he had been working in his backyard when Lima, who he was acquainted with, appeared and seemed to be behaving strangely.

The reporting party then said that he entered his home and locked the screen door behind him.

The reporting party told police that after he had taken a shower he discovered Lima standing in his kitchen. He further stated that it appeared as though Lima had cut through the screen door in order to gain entry into the house.

The reporting party said that he repeatedly ordered Lima out of his house and threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave, at which time Lima allegedly attacked the reporting party. The reporting party told police that Lima “jumped on me and started punching me!” police said.

The officers reportedly noted that the man had cuts and scratches on his face and back.

Police located Lima in the driveway of the residence. He was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery and felony daytime breaking and entering.
