The View From Prospect Hill – 9/8

On September 8, 2010, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times
It’s time to send a message to the people we elect: incumbents out, new ideas in.
Of course, we still want competent leadership and that is why The Somerville News is endorsing Sal DiDomenico and Guy Glodis for state senate and state auditor respectively.
DiDomenico is an incumbent by the strictest of definitions: he won a special election in April and has remained a level headed advocate in his short time on Beacon Hill. He has voted to jumpstart the economy by expanding gambling and against a far reaching crackdown on immigrants.

The state senate seat DiDomenico is trying to retain on Sept. 14 includes two precincts in Somerville – precincts often overlooked by state authorities who neglect the state controlled area in wards one and two. Somerville needs strong, sensible representation in the State House and DiDomenico is the one who can provide it.
For state auditor, Guy Glodis has proven himself a reformer as Worcester County sheriff. He deserves a vote to continue that reform as state auditor.
For other races, don’t hesitate to vote blank and send a message that competition and accountability are important for elected officials who repeatedly have failed to get the job done.
