Groundwork Somerville is a local group dedicated to the regeneration and preservation of the environment. Through volunteer programs and community-based partnerships, the organization works to promote a more environmentally friendly world. Groundwork itself is a global group, which was started in the United Kingdom.

The event featured musical artists such as Mark Santoro, Dylan Chace, Christian McNeal and The Redeemers and DJ Marco Andre. Many family friendly vendors were present as well, including face painting and caramel apples. There were also informational activities in which Groundwork and other local organizations, such as Somerville Local First and the Swapaholics, showed what they do for and in the community and how local citizens can help.
