Recycling pilot delayed to October 14

On October 13, 2010, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

New 65-gallon recycling carts were delivered to about 1,300 Ward Five households on October 6 and 7, as part of a pilot program to test single-stream recycling in Somerville. The pilot was delayed by a week due to a problem at the cart manufacturer, but collection of single stream recyclables will start in the pilot neighborhood on October 14.

So my fellow residents think that recycling is so important that they are unwilling to spend 30 seconds separating what they put to the curb, and instead have pay someone else to do this? Sure helps the budget cycle im sure

Where do they expect people to store these monstrosities? And will the city replace them when they ‘disappear’?
Also, judging by what I see recylced from most households, most people wouldn’t come close to filling these containers.
