Somerville reggae artist Mighty Mystic’s anticipated Wake Up World album touched stores Nov. 23 with messages of hope and peace for listeners.

Before the album was released “I alone” and “Wake Up the World” received airplay on local reggae stations teasing fans for the album. And since his most well-known track Riding On the Clouds was released, fans couldn’t wait to hear more.

On the album, Mighty Mystic’s hoarse voice rides over a delightful mixture of Hip-Hop, R&B and Spanish styles to create tunes uniquely his own. With lyrics promoting peace and love, he gives reggae fans what they have been begging for.

The album features the perfect love song when Mystic collaborates with Lee Wilson on “My Desire.” Over the track, Mystic’s voice contrasts harmoniously to the mixture of the R&B Spanish-like rhythm creating a special ode for the ladies.

The tracks range from original reggae beats to modern dancehall sounds.

The album interprets the urban reggae crossover of other genres without losing the main reggae flavor. This new sound gives fans a modern mix of classic reggae.
