Somerville’s Mayor Joseph Curtatone and his four sons Cosmo, Joseph, Patrick and James enjoyed this weekend’s fantastic weather with a Sunday morning canoe ride on the Mystic River.

Canoes can be rented by the public at Blessing of The Bay Boathouse located at 32 Shore Drive in Somerville. Boat rentals are available, so you can take a peek at the world from the water. Paddle around on the Mystic River for $10/hr. per boat, or half day/whole day pricing is available. If you’ve got a big group, call Somerville Recreation Department at (617) 625-6600 and ask about pricing and amount of people needed for group rates.

There is a free parking lot adjacent to the building. Tables and benches are available that you can eat lunch at. Enjoy a nice summer day paddling on the Mystic River
