SPOKES 2012 took place Saturday Sept 9 in Union  Sq Plaza. The event  featured free bike maintenance workshops, bicycle goods, info on bike  activism and awareness, bike art and more.  The Somerville Bicycle Committee  lead a “Tasting Tour of Somerville” fundraising ride through the streets of Somerville at 3 p.m. followed by free bike workshops in the plaza.  There was a free “bike-in movie” screening of PeeWee’s Big Adventure. Dinner and snacks sold by Lefty’s Silver Food Cart, Culinary  Cruisers and the TAZA Chococycle,  music and  a post-event night ride through the city. The event was presented by ArtsUnion and the Somerville Arts  Council.
