The Somerville News Person of the Week – October 10

On October 10, 2012, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

The Somerville News Person of the Week, Eugene A. Ferraro.

Meet Eugene A. Ferraro. “Gene” to his many friends here in the ‘Ville. Gene is a lifelong resident who grew up near Prospect Hill, went to school here and got married. He is a grandfather now, still living in Somerville.

Gene is also very active in the local Somerville Rotary Club and has been for a very long time. He is a former president of the club and has had various other duties there over the years. Since his induction into the club back in 1983 he’s stayed very active and attends meetings regularly.

He’s a great guy, always smiling and extremely courteous to all those that know him and, frankly, to just about anybody who meets him. He has a strong commitment here to Somerville, and has seen a lot of changes, like most of us since the 1960’s in High School. He makes a great pick this week for The Somerville News person of the week. When you see him around the city say “Hi” and have a nice conversation with one of Somerville’s lifelong ambassadors. Have a talk with him about the past. Congratulations, Gene. Enjoy the notoriety for the week. You deserve it, but this could cost you a fine at Rotary next week. We’re sorry, not!
